A novel cellulose acetate (CA) membrane using TiO2 nanoparticles: Preparation, characterization and permeation study

► TiO2 nanoparticles used for preparing hybrid membranes have been synthesized via ultrasonic-assisted method. ► Membrane pure water flux, porosity and thickness have been increased by addition of nanoparticles in casting solution. ► Cellulose acetate/TiO2 hybrid membrane is a novel membrane as compared with the membranes mentioned in literature. ► Due to addition of TiO2 nanoparticles, thermal stability of prepared membranes has been improved.
