Apomorphine-evoked redistribution of neurokinin-3 receptors in dopaminergic dendrites and neuronal nuclei of the rat ventral tegmental area

▶Neurokinin-3 (NK3) receptor-dopamine interaction in the ventral tegmental area (VTA). ▶Activating dopamine receptor changes NK3 receptor densities in VTA dopamine neurons. ▶No significant changes are seen in non-dopaminergic neurons of the VTA. ▶Dopamine-dependent plasticity in VTA NK3 receptors might contribute to schizophrenia.
