The batch removal of divalent nickel (Ni2+) and trivalent aluminum (Al3+) from wastewater under different experimental conditions using economic adsorbents was investigated in this study. These natural adsorbents were from different sources i.e. starch, activated charcoal, wood charcoal and clay (type-bleaching earth). The present research paper contains the effect of pH and concentration of biomass on the adsorption kinetics. The batch sorption kinetics was studied for first order reversible reaction, pseudo first and second order reaction. Also the rate constant of adsorption for all these kinetic models has been calculated. Hence this is a physical adsorption, so an attempt was made to recover adsorbed metals from adsorbents. Also an attempt was done to obtain a thermodynamic parameter ΔG0 for getting more information about the behavior of adsorption process.
