Comparison of the electrophysiological and immunohistochemical properties of acutely dissociated and 1-day cultured rat trigeminal ganglion neurons

► Cultured sensory neurons showed lower current threshold than that by acute dissociation. ► Translocation of ATF3 and expression of Nav1.3 were up-regulated after culture. ► These changes after culture were similar to the reported changes after nerve injury.
