The effects of the D2 dopamine receptor antagonist, eticlopride, on attention following bilateral vestibular deafferentation in the rat

► The effects of D2 blockade on attention in rats following vestibular loss were studied. ► Eticlopride was administered before a 5 choice serial reaction time task (5CSRTT). ► The drug caused a decreased response, but less for vestibular-deficient rats than controls. ► D2 receptor levels in the frontal cortex were similar to controls. ► These data suggest that vestibular loss changes sensitivity to eticlopride.
