Inhibition of sensory neuronal TRPs contributes to anti-nociception by butamben

► We investigated if butamben inhibit sensory TRP channels, contributing to analgesia. ► Butamben inhibited TRPA1 and TRPV4 among sensory TRP channels in in vitro systems. ► In in vivo studies, butamben also attenuated TRPA1- and TRPV4-mediated nociception. ► In conclusion, inhibition of TRPA1 and TRPV4 contribute to butamben analgesia.
