Verification of expressions of Kir2 as potential peripheral biomarkers in lymphocytes from patients with Parkinson's disease

► We analyzed the expression levels of DR, Kir2 and Kir6.2 genes in PBLs from patients with PD. ► There was a significant decrease of the D2, D3 mRNA expression in PBLs of PD patients. ► The four Kir2 subuits mRNA expression in PBLs from PD patients were also down-regulated. ► There was no difference in expression of Kir6.2 mRNA between PD patients and controls.
