Changes in cerebral glucose metabolism in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease: A pilot study with the Chinese herbal medicine fuzhisan

► We tested Chinese herbal medicine fuzhisan (FZS) in patients with mild-to-moderate Alzheimer's disease. ► Positron emission tomography (PET) scan revealed an increased or stabilized cerebral glucose metabolism in FZS-treated patients. ► Neuropsychological tests showed that FZS had a positive effect on cognition and behavioral function.
