Stress impairs consolidation of recognition memory after blocking drug memory reconsolidation

► The consolidation process of recognition memory was impaired when the reconsolidation of drug memory is blocked by cold water stress. ► NOR recognition memory consolidation was not altered if reactivation of MA-specific drug memory was not followed by cold water stress. ► Cold water stress did not affect formation of new memories, irregardless of prior MA-specific drug memory reactivation.
