Leptin controls ketone body utilization in hypothalamic neuron

▶ AACS mRNA level was reduced by leptin deficiency in the arcuate nucleus and ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus in hypothalamus but not in other brain regions. ▶ AACS mRNA level was increased by leptin treatment in cultured neural cells. ▶ AACS level was suppressed by AMPK inducer, but induced by AMPK inhibitor.
