Targets and non-targets in the aging brain: A go/nogo event-related potential study

▶ Older adults show an enhanced amplitude of the nogo-P3, an ERP measure of response suppression with centro-frontal scalp distribution. ▶ This indicates that a partial response preparation to nogo events is strongly suppressed in normal aging. ▶ This finding is obtained here by matching frequency and conflict level between go and nogo stimuli, discarding accounts related to deviance or conflict detection.
