Central antioxidant therapy inhibits parasympathetic baroreflex control in conscious rats

▶ Ascorbic acid in the 4th ventricle induces the PHE-mediated tachycardia. ▶ N-acetylcysteine in the 4th ventricle reduces the baroreflex mediated bradycardia. ▶ The antioxidants AAC and NAC may affect the parasympathetic component of the cardiac baroreflex.
