Isolation and functional characterization of Sporothrix schenckii ROT2, the encoding gene for the endoplasmic reticulum glucosidase II

► There is few information about the glycosylation pathways in Sporothrix schenckii. ► There is no genome sequence available for this organism. ► We isolated ROT2, a gene involved in the N-glycosylation pathway. ► The gene function was confirmed by functional complementation in rot2Δ mutants. ► This is the first report of a gene involved in N-glycosylation in S. schenckii.
