► Infected animals showed intensive lymphocytic mitosis and Mott cells in red pulp. ► The red pulp compartment showed an increased average number of megakaryocytes. ► High-fat fed mice showed larger white pulp. ► Schistosomiasis and dislipidemia led to splenic disorganization.
