Heligmosomoides polygyrus: EAE remission is correlated with different systemic cytokine profiles provoked by L4 and adult nematodes

► The L4 and adults of H. polygyrus are an inhibitor of ongoing EAE inflammation. ► The L4 can reverse EAE by reducing IL-12 production. ► During chronic phase of infection different mechanisms can be involved. ► Adults can reverse EAE by increase in regulatory immune networks. ► The regulatory mechanism results in inhibition of IL-17A production.
