Cytotoxic effects of permethrin in salivary glands of Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latreille, 1806) (Acari: Ixodidae) semi-engorged females

► Permethrin affects salivary gland cells of Rhipicephalus sanguineus semi-fed females. ► It causes vacuolation in acinar cells followed by cell death with formation of apoptotic bodies. ► So, permethrin interferes with salivary glands tissue besides affecting the tick nervous system.
