Cloning, overexpression and characterization of Leishmania donovani triosephosphate isomerase

► Triosephosphate isomerase from Leishmania donovani was cloned and characterized. ► Recombinant LdTIM had pH optima in the range of 7.2-9.0 and found stable at 25 °C for 30 min. ► The Km and Vmax for glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate were 0.32 mM and 10.05 mM/min/mg, respectively. ► Methylmethane thiosulphonate induced 75% enzyme inactivation within 15 min at 250 μM.
