Combination of CpG-oligodeoxynucleotides with recombinant ROP2 or GRA4 proteins induces protective immunity against Toxoplasma gondii infection

► Mice vaccinated with GRA4 or ROP2 recombinant proteins plus ODN-CpG showed reduced brain parasite load. ► Both formulations induced a Th1-biased cellular response characterized by the production of IFN-γ. ► The adjuvant-vaccine combination elicited a strong humoral response with a Th1 profile.
