The rational model of shrubland biomass, pattern and precipitation relationships along semi-arid climatic gradients

► Shrubland biomass is estimated based on Pattern Water Use efficiency (PWUE) Model. ► PWUE is parameterized using Shrub cover and edge ratio data. ► Edge ratio: area of shrub patches' boundary zone divided by their total area. ► Shrublands biomass is given by multiplying PWUE by Mean Annual Precipitation. ► Allometric calculations applied on 10 close-range photos facilitated validation.
