The influence of emission sources and meteorological conditions on SO2 pollution in Mongolia

► SO2 pollution in Mongolia was worsened by rapid urbanization. ► SO2 pollution was more serious in winter due to basic needs for heating. ► SO2 concentrations increased with the decrease of wind speed and temperature. ► SO2 concentrations increased with the increase of relative humidity.
