Black carbon aerosol characterization in a coastal city in South China using a single particle soot photometer

► A newly-developed single particle soot photometer was deployed in Shenzhen, China. ► Size distribution and mixing state of black carbon aerosol were measured on-line. ► Black carbon aerosol showed features of both local emissions and regional transport.
