Validation of the SEBS-derived sensible heat for FY3A/VIRR and TERRA/MODIS over an alpine grass region using LAS measurements

► Comparison is made between H estimated with SEBS using MODIS data and VIRR data. ► Accuracy of VIRR-H, evaluated with LAS measured H, is similar to that of MODIS-H. ► Seasonal change and spatial pattern of VIRR-H and MODIS-H are similar. ► Temporal variability of H estimation accuracy is analysed and June is the worst. ► Sensitivity analysis shows temperature gradient plays a key role in H estimation.
