Enhancing water permeability of fouling-resistant POSS-PEGM hydrogels using 'addition-extraction' of sacrificial additives

► Nanoscale pores were generated within POSS-PEGM hydrogels by 'addition-extraction' method. ► The nanoporous POSS-PEGM hydrogels exhibited extremely high water permeability. ► UF membranes coated with the nanoporous POSS-PEGM showed good anti-fouling efficiency. ► POSS-PEGM hydrogels showed potential as a nanofiltration active layer as well.
