Late Holocene paleoenvironmental changes in Northeast Brazil recorded by organic matter in lacustrine sediments of Lake Boqueirão

► Northeast Brazil experiences ITCZ displacement. ► ITCZ displacement represents a key location to study in Holocene. ► Between 3000 and 1050 calyrsBP, proxies showed lake level variations. ► From 1050 to 570 calyrsBP, proxies remained stable, due to stable conditions. ► Dryness event occurred since 570 calyrsBP, until the latest decades due to the LIA.
