Reconstruction of late Pleistocene climate in the Valsequillo Basin (Central Mexico) through isotopic analysis of terrestrial and freshwater snails

► We reconstructed climate in the Valsequillo Basin between c. 40,000 and 8000 BP. ► Oxygen and carbon isotopes of shells were used as palaeoclimate proxies. ► Around 35,000 BP climate was similar to the present day. ► Between 35,000 and 20,000 BP conditions became drier. ► Post 20,000 BP conditions became increasingly humid again.
