Liquid-liquid displacement porosimetry for the characterization of virus retentive membranes

► Correlation between structural characterization and performance of virus filters has been investigated. ► LLDP maximum pore size has proved good correlation with performance parameters as bacteriophages log retention value (LRV) or dextran test cut-off values. ► The good correlation between LLDP maximum pore sizes and the other pore size tests suggest the convenience of a simplification of the technique to the easy and rapid detection of maximum pore sizes.
