Performance of conventional gas sweetening process to remove CO2 in presence of azeotrope
چکیده انگلیسی

• CO2 capturing process is studied using DEA via Hysys process software.
• Effects of amine inlet temperature, amine flow rate, column reflux ratio and feed location are examined by fixing the number of ideal stages of the column to minimize energy demand in the proposed unit.
• Simulation results clearly showed that significant energy savings are possible with the improved CO2 capturing process.
• Simulation results also showed that the proposed system consists of lower equipments in terms of condenser and reboiler in comparison with the base simulation and it is economical.

The absorption of CO2 into aqueous amine solutions is one of the most promising technologies for CO2 capturing due to its maturity, cost effectiveness, and capability of handling large amounts of exhaust stream. Azeotropic separation of ethane and CO2 using diethanolamine is studied by Hysys® process software. In addition, the effects of four important variables are investigated by the simulator software. It is found that the new process consists of less quantity of equipments in comparison with the base simulation and a significant energy saving with higher overall efficiency is possible for the novel process.
