Surface characterization of Pd-Ag composite membranes after annealing at various temperatures

▶ Pd-Ag membranes were prepared by electroless plating onto modified stainless steel supports. ▶ Al2O3 was applied inside the substrate porous system employing a vacuum assisted-coating method. ▶ XPS provided evidence of surface PdAg alloy formation. ▶ XPS confirmed preferential segregation of Ag. ▶ Neither EDS nor XPS identified Fe or Cr in the Pd-Ag layers.
