Melt-processed blends of zein with polyvinylpyrrolidone

▶ Zein and polyvinylpyrrolidone form a compatible blend. ▶ This work represents the first compatible melt-processed blend of zein with a synthetic polymer. ▶ Differential scanning calorimetry data for the blends showed single Tg values intermediate between the zein and PVP controls.
