Fast and simple measurement of cutting energy requirement of plant stalk and prediction model development

▶ Developed a novel digital torque wrench (DTW) corn stalk cutting energy measurement technique. ▶ DTW measurements correlated well with those of universal testing machine. ▶ Developed simple linear models of corn stalk cutting energy using DTW torque measurements. ▶ DTW energy measurement technique is simple, fast, portable, and inexpensive.
