Early Cretaceous sedimentary evolution of a pelagic basin margin (the Manín Unit, central Western Carpathians, Slovakia)

► Berriasian / Aptian hemipelagic planktogene / calciturbidite limestone sedimentation. ► Climate instability events were documented by O and C isotopes fluctuations. ► Nannoplankton, calpionellid microplankton and ammonite supported biostratigraphy. ► Soft bottom colonization by epibenthos resulted in carbonate platform growth. ► Bored and collapsed hard rock surface was covered by middle Albian pelagic marls.
