In this study, the ignition delay times of lean and stoichiometric DME/n-butane/air mixtures were measured behind reflected shock waves at pressures of 2 and 10Â atm, temperatures from 650 to 1400Â K. The performances of several chemical kinetic models were evaluated. Numerical simulation and chemical kinetic analysis were conducted in a broad temperature range and at various DME blending ratios to understand the interactions between DME and n-butane. It is found that DME addition can promote both the first-stage and overall ignition delay of n-butane in the NTC region.
