Improvement of BIB packaging product filling valve CIP performance and efficiency

► CFD analyses of product fill valve for BIB packaging exhibited areas of cavitation. ► Several areas were noted as being virtually un-cleanable by current CIP techniques. ► New designs using current cylindrical shape showed better performance but poor CIP. ► Semi-spherical design showed better cleanability by CIP technique. ► This design also exhibited increased mass flow and elimination of cavitation.
