Hydrodesulfurization of 4,6-DMDBT on multi-metallic bulk catalyst NiAlZnMoW: Effect of Zn

- Multi-metallic bulk catalysts NixZnyAlzMoW were prepared based on NiZnAl-layered hydroxide precursor.
- The HDS conversion of 4,6-DMDBT on these catalysts was found to be much higher than that of the commercial catalyst CoNiMoW/Al2O3.
- Adding Zn reduces the apparent activation energy of catalysts.
- Zn-doping results in larger pore volume and larger pore size for catalysts.
