The plasma-catalytic oxidation of adsorbed toluene was investigated using gas circulation with MnOx and AgOx catalyst. The experimental results indicated that COx yield, CO2 selectivity and ozone decomposition ability enhanced significantly in presence of catalysts. It was observed that adsorbed toluene could be effectively oxidized to CO2 in presence of catalysts with gas circulation, probably due to the enhanced utilization of reactive species in the system. Typically, when background gas was oxygen, the CO2 selectivity of MnOx/γ-Al2O3 and AgOx/γ-Al2O3 catalysts were both close to 100% in 60 min. The results showed that N2O was generated as a by-product with air background gas.
