Microwave hydrothermal synthesis of Ag2CrO4 photocatalyst for fast degradation of PCP-Na under visible light irradiation

► Ag2CrO4 photocatalysts are first synthesized by a microwave hydrothermal method. ► Ag2CrO4 shows high activity to degrade PCP-Na under visible light irradiation. ► The reduction of TOC shows the mineralization of PCP-Na over Ag2CrO4. ► The possible photocatalytic mechanism of the Ag2CrO4 was discussed and proposed.
