Role of the interfacial water structure on electrocatalysis: Oxygen reduction on Pt(1Â 1Â 1) in methanesulfonic acid

- ORR was studied in methanesulfonic acid (MTSA) on Pt(1 1 1).
- ORR activity in MTSA slightly decreases compared to the activity in HClO4.
- Stronger liquid water structuring may decrease ORR activity.
