Decomposition of ammonia by atmospheric pressure AC discharge: Catalytic effect of the electrodes

- A novel plasma reactor is proposed for COx-free hydrogen generation from ammonia.
- Activities of electrode materials increase in the following order: Cu < SS < Ni.
- The Ni and SS electrodes are active catalysts for ammonia decomposition.
- Fe, Ni and their nitrides are the active phases for catalytic ammonia decomposition.
