Superior performance of Co-N/m-C for direct oxidation of alcohols to esters under air

We report an expeditious and eco-efficient methodology for the synthesis of esters by aerobic oxidative esterification of readily available alcohols using a cobalt-modified N-doped mesoporous carbon material (Co-N/m-C) as the catalyst under air atmosphere.
