Effects of composition and metal particle size on ethane dehydrogenation over PtxSn100−x/Mg(Al)O (70 ⩽ x ⩽ 100)

The effects of composition and metal particle size of platinum catalysts on ethane dehydrogenation were investigated by studying PtxSn100−x/Mg(Al)O (70 ⩽ x ⩽ 100) catalysts with a good control over both parameters, which exhibit strong size and composition dependency in terms of the TOF and selectivity of ethene production as well as the accumulation of coke.62
