Activation energy of hydride transfer between isobutane molecules on USY zeolite. First direct experimental measurement by in situ MAS NMR using mixtures of isotopomers

The hydride transfer between isobutane isotopomers in acidic zeolite has been studied by in situ NMR. The activation energy and the kinetics of the reaction have been determined. The experimental observations support a carbenium based mechanism.
