O2 plasma activation of dendrimer-derived Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalysts

► O2 plasma was used at 25 °C to activate dendrimer-derived Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalysts. ► FTIR results show that the plasma treatment decomposes the dendrimer component. ► The presence of Pt in the sample does not affect the dendrimer decomposition rate. ► No dissociation of the Pt-Pt bonds is observed during the O2 plasma treatment. ► Average Pt particle size remains approximately the same after the plasma treatment.
