Regional land cover mapping and change detection in Central Asia using MODIS time-series

► Classification approach addressing regional land cover characteristics of Central Asia. ► 2001 and 2009 land cover classification maps with 250 m resolution and an overall accuracy above 90%. ► Vegetation coverage in sparsely vegetated areas is strongly depended on seasonal precipitation. ► Water bodies alteration due to human impact and environmental conditions.
