Determination of phenobarbital in hair matrix by liquid phase microextraction (LPME) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS)

- Barbiturates, in particular phenobarbital, are related with poisoning and suicide cases.
- Alkaline hair digestion can be applied for stable compounds such as barbiturates.
- LPME technique followed by GC-MS showed to be efficient to detect phenobarbital in hair samples.
