Influence of NaCl on mineral carbonation of CO2 using cement material in aqueous solutions

► Leaching and carbonation behaviors of cement materials were investigated. ► Ca leaching from OPC and OPC hydration were enhanced by the presence of NaCl. ► Carbonation of OPC in aqueous solution was promoted in the presence of NaCl. ► The particle size of precipitated calcium carbonate decreased at NaCl<1.0 M. ► The particle size of precipitated calcium carbonate increased at NaCl>1.0 M.
