Malachite green degradation in simulated wastewater using Nix:TiO2 thin films

► Ni incorporation into TiO2 narrows the band gap from 3.0 eV to 2.6 eV. ► Nix:TiO2 thin films were used as catalysts in simulated wastewater. ► Escherichia coli and sucrose dissolved in the MG solution affect the degradation performance.
