Water-gas shift modeling in coal gasification in an entrained-flow gasifier. Part 1: Development of methodology and model calibration

► Review the published water-gas shift reaction (WGS) rates with and without the presence of catalysts. ► Calibrate the WGS reaction rate by matching the experimental data taken from the quench section of an actual gasifier. ► The calibrated results match the experimental data within 2% points in both CO conversion and H2 generation.
