An experimental study on performance and emissions of a small SI engine generator set fuelled by hydrous ethanol with high water contents up to 40%

► Hydrous ethanol with high water contents up to 40% by volume can be used in a small SI engine for generator. ► Increasing the water content of ethanol decreased the overall efficiency and NOx emission, while other emissions increased. ► A catalytic converter is required to reduce the regulated emissions to meet EPA limit.
