Analysis of diamondoids in crude oils using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography/time-of-flight mass spectrometry

- Petroleum diamondoids were analyzed and identified by GC × GC/TOFMS for the first time.
- Diamondoids were well separated and distinguished from alkanes and aromatics in the crude oils.
- Over 100 homologues of adamantane, diamantane and triamantane were recognized.
