Ni supported on La2O3-SiO2 used to catalyze glycerol steam reforming

► The addition of La2O3 to NiSi favors the formation of gaseous H2 and CO2. ► The C formation during the reaction is diminished with La2O3 on the support. ► Ni10LaSi was the catalyst that achieved the best conversion of glycerol. ► Ni10LaSi suffered a higher rate of formation of C than Ni30LaSi. ► Ni30LaSi can be considered a promising system for the glycerol steam reforming.
